Charles Antoine LeCoultre and Ulysse

The company was founded in 1833 by brothers Charles Antoine LeCoultre and Ulysse in the Vallée de Joux, Canton of Vaud. In 1937 a collaboration led by the Paris watchmaker Edmond Jaeger, Jacques David in a merger of both companies, the brand name Jaeger-LeCoultre was born. For the U.S. market for some time, the brand name was retained LeCoultre. Known Watches models Reverso, Master Memovox and Master Reveil (Armbandwecker are). There are also produced table clocks, such as the Atmos, whose mechanical movement is wound by temperature changes.

1903: Development of the thinnest movement in the world. It is only 1.38 mm high.
1929: "Calibre 101" is the smallest hand-wound movement of the world. It weighs just under a gram and consists of 98 parts.
1930: production of the Atmos clock based on a patent by Jean-Léon Reutter.
1937: The Company and Jaeger Le Coulture merge after many years of cooperation.
1953: invention of "Future Matic", a wristwatch, which does away Aufziehkrone.
1974: Cheap and quartz movement watches from the Asian region, the Swiss watch industry fall into crisis.
In 1978: The German industrial group VDO (later Mannesmann) takes Jaeger-LeCoultre.
From 1985: Renaissance of the mechanical clock in the luxury segment.
2000: Mannesmann sells Jaeger-LeCoultre to the South African jewelry and luxury watch group Richemont.
2006: With over 900 employees achieved Jaeger-LeCoultre Swiss sales of more than 240 million francs.
