Every year at Maurice Lacroix produced 120 000 clocks, including 50,000 with mechanical movement. [1] The company, under the same holding company based in Zurich is part of Zurich Desco von Schulthess AG and employs approximately 300 employees, including about 200 in the international headquarters Zurich and Saignelégier in the production and Montfaucon in Switzerland. "Maurice Lacroix" was the name of a member the Board of Parent. At the time that was given to the launch of its own watch brand, he died. In his honor, they chose its name as a brand name.
Founding and history [edit]

Founder of the brand Maurice Lacroix was the President and CEO of the Desco von Schulthess AG, Dr. Peter Brunner. 1961 Zurich acquired the Desco von Schulthess AG Jurassic Saignelégier one assembly facility for the production of private label watches for the domestic and international market. Then in 1975 the brand was founded in Saignelégier and the company was marketing the first Clock Austria under the name Maurice Lacroix. In the 1980s, was an international sales network set up and Pforzheim in Germany, the headquarters of the company opened. 1989 Maurice Lacroix acquired the Swiss housing factory Queloz SA, are produced in the well-known watch brands for other housing.
In 1990, under the name Masterpiece Collection, a mechanical watch collection with technical innovations out as a trademark, which was fitted with blued screws and polished bridges. As a quality characteristic Maurice Lacroix has created one of the first manufacturers the opportunity to look into the case movement through glass floors.
In the fall of 2001, the Maurice Lacroix SA, previously a division of Desco von Schulthess AG, for an independent legal entity. Since January 2007, Maurice Lacroix is one within the group to the newly founded Desco Desco Luxury Holding AG. In 2006, Maurice Lacroix's first fully self-developed chronograph caliber (ML 106 presented). The factory complex components for mechanical calibers are manufactured in our own workshops in Montfaucon near Saignelégier. This can be counted among the Maurice Lacroix Swiss watch manufacturers. Today (2010) Maurice Lacroix has around 300 employees in about 3300 stores in over 60 countries around the globe.
